In the 1970s, polyphonic synthesizers were still expensive in short supply. So it was that "string machines" impressed the disco sound of this time. These "string machines" are based on the technology used in electronic organs which were extremely popular in the 1970s. In contrast to polyphonic synthesizers, the sound generation of “string machines” is based on frequency division. "String machines" offered partly monophonic and partly fully polyphonic orchestral sounds, especially string and brass like sounds were part of their repertoire. Their full and distinctive sound is achieved by combining multiple analog delay elements, which are modulated by several low frequency oscillators. Although the sound realism was missing, “string machines” have become legendary and are an integral part of the history of popular music.

Now, KApro brings the sound of one of the most famous "string machines" to your KORG KRONOS/NAUTILUS: The KApro EXs124 „Famous String Ensemble“ Library.

Note: The order of the factory Programs is arranged differently among NAUTILUS, KRONOS2, KRONOS X and the original KRONOS. This affects sounds which reference the factory Programs. Please download the file which matches your product model.
