EXs161 Concert Grand Hammered Dulcimer

The Concert Grand Hammered Dulcimer is the second instrument featured in the Bolder Sounds Hammered Dulcimer Trilogy. The Concert Grand is a dulcimer which is rare in the world of sample libraries. It is a 3 course instrument ( 3 sets of strings per main string) and is quite large (although not quite as big as it's older cousin the Cimbalom). This instrument has a strong percussive attack and a very complex harmonic sonority.

Sampled articulations include felt and wood hammers as well as drag ornaments with both hammer types. Also included are samples with the Concert Grand being plucked with the flesh of the thumb for a rich dark timbre. The Kronos programming breaks down each articulation and presents them as separate programs. From there, they are combined in various combinations. The last 7 programs feature the Concert Grand layered with various Kronos ROM samples. This is a unique organic instrumental color for your Kronos which you will not find anywhere else.
