Wikipedia has it at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theatre_organ that “A theatre organ (also known as a theater organ, or [especially in the U.K.] a cinema organ) is a distinct type of pipe organ originally developed to provide music and sound effects to accompany silent films during the first 3 decades of the 20th century.”
The horseshoe-shaped arrangement of stop tabs above and around the instrument's keyboards on its console is typical and has also been introduced into electronic versions of these fine instruments. Following customers’ requests, KApro now introduces a sound library which is solely devoted to theatre organs. KApro recorded a famous theatre pipe organ with three manuals and full pedal as well as two electronic theatre organs for the brand-new KApro EXs88 "Theatre Organ" Library. The programs U-G/t000 to U-G/t072 present typical theatre pipe organ registers while the programs U-G/t073 to U-G/t100 bring typical sound effects and percussion sounds which are typical for large theatre pipe organs. The programs U-G/t101 to U-G/t127 present a small selection of typical registrations found in electronic theatre organs.
Note: The order of the factory Programs is arranged differently among NAUTILUS, KRONOS2 and KRONOS/KRONOS X. This affects the sounds which reference the factory Programs. Please download the file which matches your keyboard.
