The Kelfar Omega Buzuq offers a unique acoustic feel, meticulously preserved through specialized deep sampling techniques and advanced microphone setups. This comprehensive library includes everything from subtle noises to soundboard details, empowering you to craft your masterpiece using these sounds individually or in combination.

Utilizing an innovative Decca Tree-inspired micing technique developed by Sam Skaf, employing 3 condenser capsules with different sizes and gradient responses, we've captured every nuance of the instrument. This technique accentuates differences between left and right stereo fields and balances the sound energy across low and high octaves, resulting in a four-dimensional perception of the stereo signal. The same mastering process used for the previously released EXs252 Kelfar Omega Kanun has been utilized on the Kelfar Omega Buzuq, ensuring the highest quality sound reproduction.

The EXs254 Buzuq library includes two types of buzuq. The first type is the traditional Acoustic Buzuq, which has two courses of metal strings (Bass G2/Sol2-D4/Re4, Normal C4/Do4-G5/Sol5). The second type is the Acoustic Buzuq with Pickup, which features two courses of metal strings plus an additional two courses of metal strings tuned an octave lower (Bass G2/Sol2-D4/Re4, Normal C4/Do4-G5/Sol5, Third Octave/Lower C3/Do3).

The Buzuq, with its distinctive half-pear shape and fretted long neck, is a captivating instrument celebrated across Central Asia and the Mediterranean. Each region brings its own unique flavor to the Buzuq's sound, employing intricate micro-tonal tuning systems that reflect their rich musical traditions. Whether you're a seasoned musician or a curious listener, the Buzuq offers a mesmerizing auditory experience that transcends borders and connects hearts.

The articulation and ornamentations have been captured because the Buzuq has specific ornamentations that are unique to the instrument. One of the specific techniques that Buzuq players use is gliding between notes, sometimes spanning one note or even an octave.


Key Zones and Velocity Zones
Using the features of both NAUTILUS and KRONOS, we have literally transformed the actual buzuq to be mapped to the keys so it can be performed just like a real buzuq. The programming of the Buzuq and key mapping allows for special zoning, splitting the Bass String (G2-B4) and the actual strings (C4-G5) typically used for playing. Additionally, the velocity zones have been meticulously programmed to capture the dynamic nuances of the buzuq, ensuring that the intensity of your keystrokes translates into expressive musical performances. This setup provides a versatile and dynamic range for your musical performances.


Poly Legato
The EXs254 Kelfar Omega Buzuq indeed features poly legato, and it's worth noting that the voicing team at Kelfar Technologies dedicated a significant amount of time to meticulously set up each offset to support this feature. This attention to detail ensures that the transitions between notes are smooth and natural, enhancing the overall expressiveness and realism of the instrument.

All the AMS assignments and Real-Time Controls have been standardized. You have dynamic control over the sound using SW1, SW2, After Touch, Velocity, Joystick, and Ribbon. It is highly recommended that you use the EXs254 Guide to become familiar with the Kelfar Omega Buzuq.

Wave Sequences: The EXs254 Kelfar Omega Buzuq is programmed with round-robins to add more realism to your performance. The Buzuq will no longer sound static or mechanical. Now, it sounds just like a real Buzuq. Each new note sounds with fresh dynamics.


Dynamic Buzuq with Velocity switching
Many of the combis are programmed to respond to velocity switching dynamics. The EXs254 does respond to Dynamics' Note Velocity: pp, p, mp, f.

Effects
Do you need to add specific effects to carry off a solo or flourish? Knobs 7/N-5 and 8/N-6 control the effects in real time. This feature makes it easy to get the right amount of Reverb or Delays whether you're performing live or playing in the studio. We've even programmed the Buzuq in Progs and Combis with effects related to a theme or song!
